The body of a concealed closer is mounted inside the frame header and the arm is mounted to the top of the storefront door; moreover, the arm slides on a track that is built into the top of the storefront door. Concealed closers are needed on storefront doors so that when a door is pulled open the storefront door will close back on its on. Concealed closers also add a little resistance to the pull so that the door will not gain enough momentum to slam against a the person opening the storefront door and (or) slam against the wall.
